Mr M V Subbiah is a Non-Executive Director of the company since July 1997. Born in February 1939, he has studied in the University of Aston and has attended a programme for management development at the Harvard Business School.

Mr Subbiah is on the Board of several companies and was the Chairman of the Muruguppa Group where he played a major role in turning around some of the Group Companies.

He has been actively associated with various Industry Associations in the country and has won several awards. Being keenly interested in the human resources development, he won the National HRD Award in 1988 for his valued contributions. All India Management Association conferred him with the JRD Tata Corporate Leadership Award in February 2002. He is considered a trend-setter in professionalizing family owned businesses in the country and has currently taken up academic work on the subject with Kellog School, USA.
