Mr Aditya Narayan was appointed Chairman of the company in April 2003. He joined ICI Group in 1979 and after holding several senior positions including CEO of Fertilizer and Explosives businesses, he was the Managing Director of the Company from August 1996 to April 2003 during which period he played a key role in reshaping the Company's business portfolio. He is also a director on the Boards of a few other eminent companies and is the CEO of BHP Billiton Marketing Services India Private Limited.

Mr Aditya Narayan, born in January 1952, is a B Tech from IIT, Kanpur. He also holds formal qualifications in Law and was Fellow in Sciences at the University of Rochester, USA. He was a Commonwealth Scholar at Manchester Business School in 1991 and is a Fellow of the ASPEN Institute, Colorado, USA.

He is an avid reader with hiking in the mountains as a special hobby.
